Yogeshwarji's illness

November 9th 1979 brought unexpected news. Yogeshwarji had a major heart attack and was admitted to Vivekananda Hospital, Ahmedabad. Maa Sarveshwari heard the news and without a second thought grabbed the golden chance to serve her spiritual master. She send her resignation to the school authorities right from the hospital.

Earlier, on two occasions Maa send her resignation but every time the school trustees rejected it by saying: "The school needs your presence. It is a matter of great fortune for the school to have a Principal like you." This time, however it was different. Maa never returned to the Institute again. The management waited for three months but had to accept the resignation. In their letter they wrote, "The doors of the institution are forever open for you. You can come back at any time. The school will always miss you."

At the hospital, Maa performed exemplary service of Yogeshwarji, remaining awake for countless days and nights. Shri Yogeshwarji's illness had to succumb to Maa's spontaneous and intense services. Thereafter, Maa stayed forever with Shri Yogeshwarji. A new chapter began in Maa Sarveshwari's spiritual Life. She left the limited and small field of the school and entered into the vast field of service to the humanity.

In Maa's own words, (English translation of her composition) it was a divine play:

"By Playing a wonderful sport

Of the struggle between life and death,

He called me closer to him,

And showered all his blessings;

My master offered me

A Glass full of nectar"

Abroad on Spiritual Mission with Yogeshwarji

Between the year 1980 to 1984, Maa accompanied Yogeshwarji to USA, UK, Canada and South Africa on spiritual mission. As an ambassador of Indian religion and culture, she gave inspiring talks, sang bhajans, performed yogic exercises, visited places of significance and met religious personalities.

Unfailingly, she captured all the happenings in her diary. Her detailed diary of South Africa tour was later published as "Dakshin Africa no Punya Pravas", which gives an excellent insight into the activities carried out by Shri Yogeshwarji. She collected all the press articles, radio and TV talks and all recognitions conferred. She strained herself to see that every single lecture was taped and made available for later use. Today, all these material has became priceless possessions for the future generations.

March 18th 1984 & there after

It was 18th March 1984, when Yogeshwarji was at Mumbai and a new lecture series on 'Srimad Bhagavat' started. While delivering the first lecture at Laxmi Narayana Temple, Kandiwali in Mumbai, Yogeshwarji left his physical body.  The spiritual odyssey of a great soul come to an end. Thousands of devotees looked at Maa as a spiritual heir of Shri Yogeshwarji and she proved her mettle in an extraordinary way.

She took charge of all the activities that were incomplete or in nascent stage and strained hard to finish them.  A new chapter began in her spiritual life too. Her penances, vows, ascetic orders, fasting and recitation increased manifold along with her pilgrimage, publications of book, correspondence, and spiritual guidance to a great number of devotees. She assumed the role of their Guru - spiritual guide as well as their Maa - Divine Mother.
