Jai Krupalu
Maa.
Today, the dry
season was no more for Toronto, for the devotees were taken totally by
surprise by Maa's unexpected visit. The Toronto Bhaktas had been
constantly praying and asking Maa to
grace
them with her Presence, but for some reason, Toronto was not in her
list of places to be. Today, however, that changed, even if it was
only for a day, it meant lot to devotees here.
At around 5:00
clock everyone got the message that Maa is in Toronto and a Satsang
was scheduled from 8 to 9pm at Mr. Sureshbhai Shah's Residence.
Before 8 pm, people had started to arrive for the Satsang. Everyone
looked happy as they were going to see Maa back in Toronto after a
long time.
The Basement
of house 111 Badesa Circle (Sureshbhai's
residence) started to fill
quickly. Sureshbhai asked Niruben to do Mantra Gaan,
so everyone joined in
'Om
Yogeshwarai Namh'
mantra gaan. At 8:30 the large basement was full with people. The
Basement was nicely decorated by pictures of Maa Prabhu and banners
created by Yogesh Lad. At the front was sofa and on it were placed
pillows. A tall Divo was shining brightly on small table in front of
the Sofa.
After the
Mantra Gaan and dhoon, Maa descended the stairs. Everyone got up and
with folded hands welcomed Maa. Maa had a smile on her face. As
usual, she was carrying Prahbu's swaroop which she placed on the right
seat of the sofa. She bowed to Prabhu's
swaroop,
then took her seat on the left side. Everyone sat down. Immediately,
Sureshbhai
announced today's agenda. The floor was open to everyone for
dhoon
for 5-10 minutes. After that, Sushilaben was to sing few bhajans.
For the Dhoon part, there was silence. Who was going to sing?
Gitaben Shah seized the opportunity and sang "Aaj Ahi Avyo Re Mohan
Girdhaari. Kaink Varasoni Prarthana Shambhali..." The Bhajan was
well suited for the occasion, for it tells that "Krishna has come
today, after many years of Prarthna. He has left his favourite place
- Gokul and instead has come here to be with us!..."
Then a dhoon
was sung by Siddhi -
Dhyankendra balika. She sang 'Satat
Raksha Karo Chho Dina Raat, Amaara Antare Shraddha Kadi Na Vaanko
Thaaye Vaal.." Maa appeared pleased with this bhajan, for she was
moving her head rythmatically
as it was being sung. She looked in the audience side to see who was
singing. After listening to this dhoon
Maa, lifted her slate and wrote: Listening to this dhoon Maa was
reminded of one incident that occurred in Swargarohan. After that
this dhoon was created. Maa explained that in Swargarohan number
youths
were doing Seva work when all of sudden a big slab of rock fell. One
youth happened to be right under the impact of it when this
happened. By Prabhu's Grace, the rock missed him so slightly! It
just touched his clothes and slipped down. The gap between the boy
and the rock was so small- like a hair split distance! It could
have been most serious accident, as his head was right below the
rock! And this boy was the only child of his parents! But Prabhu
protects his children. Maa was constantly thinking about Prabhu's
Grace on this occasion, and in that thought out came this Prayer in
the form ' Satat Raksha Karo Chho dinna Raat'-- O God you are
continually protecting. We are witnessing this day and night. We
have faith that nothing bad will happen to us" The actual prathna
is long but the 2 or 3 lines are quite common heard being sun.
Maa said, that
we should not miss opportunity to write down any Grace incidents that
we witness. If we do not give form to the Krupa incident in writing,
then as time goes by that Krupa incident also vanishes away.
'Who has witnessed such
incidents in Swargarohan and written them?' Maa requested Niruben
sitting in front of her to say few things she observed during her
numerous stays in Swargarohan.
Maa jokingly said even if Niruben
made things up as she talked everyone would still believe! --
everyone laughs. Niruben, has a good habit of writing down many events
whenever she is with Maa. Even today during the Satsang she was
writing all things that was being said by Maa.
Niruben
thanked Maa for coming to Toronto. 'It seems that many devotees'
prayers have been answered. Thank you Maa.
Niruben described that
Swargarohan is such a peaceful place that once you go there you don't
feel like going anywhere else. I have had the good fortune to visit
Swargarohan a number of times. And on each occasion I have only gone
just to be in Swargarohan. And I have never gone elsewhere. The
moment you enter the gates
of the Swargarohan, you immediately start to feel
how divine
and peaceful
place Swargarohan is.'
She described an
incident about a tree. There was one tree in main ground of
Swargarohan for number of years. When the new wing was being
constructed, this tree came in the way of the new building and had to
be removed. However, Maa has kept the spot where that tree once
stood. The tree stump is still there, and the trunk is place down
right beside the building, where people come, sit there and do their
Sadhna and Meditation! The tree stump and the trunk are being used
in a good cause! See how Maa pays attention to even a tree!
Maa even ensures
that birds are given feeding regularly. Those of you who have been
to Swargarohan know that parrots come there in flocks. On the roof
each morning and in the afternoon the birds are given grain. Even
the plants are taken care of tenderly. Maa not only respects the
humans but also living thing like plants, birds and flowers! In the
Gardens you see signs around flowers which say 'Do not pick me, I too
like to Grow'!, Once some garden workers had not watered plants. So
Maa called them to her quarters and explained to them very nicely,
that if they did not get water themselves how would they feel? In the
same way Plants also need water. So you should also not neglect to
water them!
'If Maa gives
so much love and life to Plants, flowers and birds, what to speak of
us, human beings!' Maa gives us so much Love and Peace. And we
definitely feel that in Swargarohan.'
After Niruben
finished, Maa wrote with smile, "And they are not made up stories!
They are true!"
After Niruben, Maa
asked Sushilaben to say something...'Sushilaben will not sing, but
will say few words'.
Sushilaben got up
and spoke at length about today's Maa's Lila Prasang.
Few days ago,
Rajubhai Shah had called Maa in New Jersey and gave her the message
that his wife Jyotsanaben was very ill suffering from complications in
throat. Ever since that news, Maa was constantly thinking about
Rajubhai and Jyotsnaben. Rajbubhai called again a day before
yesterday about Jyotsnaben's illness. She was hospitalized and the
family was in very much in grief, and were totally dependent on Maa
Prabhu's Grace. Hearing this Maa immediately stopped taking any
water or fruit. That day was not Maa's fasting day, yet she did not
take anything. Whole night Maa did not sleep and was constantly
yearning to Prahbu to protect her Devotee from this mishap. It's been
two days Maa has not taken anything! Maa made immediate plans to
see Jyotsnaben
in Toronto. The night before, Vinodbhai had checked the forecast
for next day, and it was showing heavy rains, and thunderstorms. But,
Sushilaben said, from NJ to Toronto they did not get any rain! Also
Maa did not want everyone know that she was coming, for her purpose
was only to see Jyotsnaben. So Vinodhbhai, took the direction to
the hospital right from the Internet, without having to ask anyone
about it! So along with Maa came four of bhaktas---Vinodhbhai,
Bipinbhai(from NJ), Sushilaben and Sarojben. Vinodhbai and Bipinbhai
drove the Honda van through out the journey. Maa told Shushilaben,
the reason of their Yatra to Toronto. Maa said, "We're going, to pay
for the debt we owe to Mohanlal and Shardaben. (They are parents of
Rajubbhai and Sureshbhai in Toronto. Early in Prabhuji's life, both
of them had served Shri
Yogeshwarji well. So Maa here is saying that to pay off that debt,
she was going to Toronto!)
They had no
problems on their journey to the hospital. Sushilaben said, it's been
12 hours since we had left this morning, still even during this long
journey Maa not even blinked her eyes once! So intense was her
concentration on thought of being with her
devotee.
During the entire yatra she was praying to Prahbu. We reached Toronto
around 2:00pm. At 2:30 we reached the Centennial Hospital (located in
Scarborough, eastern part of Toronto). Maa first sent Vinodhbai to
make enquiries in the hospital, to see if visitors are even allowed to
see the patient. To his joy, he found that visitors were then allowed
go in!. So Maa and everyone went to see Jyotsnaben.
(The day before, no visitors were allowed to see Jyotsnaben, as her
condition was worse, however, things changed when Maa arrived at the
hospital).
As we neared the
patient ward, we saw Rajubhai. He was so shocked and happy to see
Maa that, he wondered whether what he was seeing a dream or reality.
Normally, Rajubhai is an outspoken person, who is full of words. But
seeing Maa, he was choking in tears. He was unable to speak -- so
much overjoyed was he to see Maa! His joy knew no bounds! He was
overwhelmed. So was Jyotsnaben. Maa made atmosphere light by
cheering them up; joked with them and made them laugh by her playful
nature. The hospital room of Jyotsnaben suddenly became lively.
There was drastic change in that room after Maa had come!
Rajubhai admitted
that, "Maa, for four days, he has not seen Jyotsna smile. And now in
Maa's presence she smiling, laughing!" Maa joked with Jyotsnaben
quite a lot. There were many tubes around her body, some going
through her nose, her mouth, etc. She was constantly getting cough.
But during Maa's presence, the cough seemed have subsided! Maa asked
if she was alright, and Jyotsnaben was indicating with motion of her
two hands that she was ok. Maa, joked with her saying 'Keep giving
Ashirvard like this. You take Maa's place. Become Maa Jyoteshwari or
Maa Rajeshwari and give blessing to everyone who come to you!"
With comments
like this and more Maa uplifted spirits of Jyotnaben and Rajubhai. Maa
told Jyotsanben to keep fighting. To be strong and not weak. To face
the suffering that is ordained in our life. Not to give up. Seeing
that doctor was coming, Maa came out of the patient's room. Later
Nimesh and Vikash (Son and Nephew of Rajubhai respectively) said to
Maa that Doctor had positive things to say about Jyotsnaben. He was
hopeful that Jyotsanben could recover! Maa still was not satisfied
and thought that she has not spent enough time with her bhaktas. So
again she went to Jyotsnaben's room and talked (communicated) more. Jyotsnaben
wanted to give something to
Maa. But what could she give her? She had no money or flowers. But
look Maa's love! She is not tied to anything. She gives and gives.
Just before leaving Maa gave Jyotsanben Her Slate- the very thing she
communicates with everyone! Surely She would get another slate
eventually to use, but still it was so much love She had for
Jyotsnaben that prompted her without any other thought to give it to
her right away! She asked Jyotsnaben
to use this slate to write and tell everyone not to worry and to
encourage everyone and not be sad for her. One can only imagine how
much relief, joy the Shah family received in the Hospital with Maa's
Presence!
Sushilaben,
said, that let no one think that Maa came, joked, made everyone laugh,
cheerful and then left. Maa has a serious message to tell all of us.
The message, is that in life, we are with faced with happiness and
suffering. Naturally we don't mind happiness, but when suffering
strikes us; bad things happen to us, we lose heart. We become
weak. Do not back down. Rise and face the suffering and come out a
winner. Have faith and keep a positive attitude. Do not become
weak. Have strong faith and fight.' This is the message we have to
put in practice in our own life. If we are trampled down buy
difficulties in our life than we are not worthy to be called Maa or
Prahbu's bhaktas -
saying
this Sushilaben ended her speech.
Since
Sureshbhai is very particular about time, Sushilaben apologized that
she went 2 minutes over her time. When she said this Maa started
looking around, and then smilingly wrote, "It's Prabhu's big
grace
that there are no
clocks on any of the basement walls
here! So no one can tell whether he/she is late or early!"
-(laughter)
[Prabhuni
Moti Krupaa Chhe Ke Ahi Koi Divaal Upar Ghadiaalj Nathi. Etale Modu
Ke Vahelu Thaay Te Koine Khabaraj Na Pade ]
Maa said, after
seeing Jyotsnaben she wanted to leave for NJ right away. However, she
asked her two good sons what thought she should do. Vikas replied,
'Maa, I had had the good fortune to have your darshan. Now if I say
ok Maa you can go to NJ, then that would be very selfish of me. You
have to give Darshan to other devotees in Toronto as well!' Rajubhai
said the same thing. So we came to Sureshbhai's house and this
satsang was scheduled.
Maa said, we
are sitting here in Satsang, Jyotsnaben will probably be resting in
her bed in the hospital room. We will pray for her Health. Saying
this she motioned to start Mantragaan. 'Om Yogeshwaray
Namh' Mantragaan was changed for sometime. After that Maa, said who
can come to Satsang at this same place here this Friday?" Many raised
their hands. Maa said, you can meet and sing Rakshmaam Dhoon for one
hour- from 8 to 9pm for Health of Jyotsnaben. In Swargarohn, it's a
Niyam, that when ever someone gets serious illness, they sing
Rakshmaam dhoon for one hour."
Maa said, many of
you from the audience has been to India in the 60th celebration of
Sannidhi Parva. Also many are planning to be in Calgary next week,
and our main task of seeing the patient is over, so we will depart
from Toronto in few hours to NJ. (Dardinaa Darshananu Kaam Puru Thayu
Che. )
Priaya Shah offered
flowers to Maa. Maa took those flowers and gave to Vaishali as
blessing from Maa for Vaishali's recent engagement.
Just before
doing the final prayer, 'Vandan Karu...'
Sureshbhai asked Maa if he
could say few words. He said when his father passed away, Maa had
said that 'Even if we were meditating in the Himalayas, when our
Bhakta are in need, we will come down to see them.' Maa's coming
from NJ to Toronto proves that Maa doesn't just say, but really means
what she says. As Maa has mentioned that she has come here today to
pay debt of our father and mother, but by doing so, we have become
indebted to Maa. O Maa!
Do
keep us ever at your feet for our many births!
After this,
'Vandand
Karu'
Prarthana
was sung. Everyone departed with joy of getting unexpected Darshan of
Maa and with sadness, knowing Maa was not staying but returning back
to N.J.
