Shri Yogeshwarji

(15 August 1921 - 18 March 1984)

Shri Yogeshwarji

Complete grace is eluding

Yogeshwarji's long and seemingly unending history of fasts continued for more than a decade. He was enriched by various darshans of the Mother yet he remain discontent. He was craving for the Mother's darshan accompanied by her nectarine speech. His eternal yearning was for the realization of the Mother and conversation with her at his will. He wanted the Mother's incessant unobtrusive darshan in which he can feel the heavenly and celestial touch of the Divine Mother.

The Divine Mother or various Siddhas used to direct him on how to perform fasts and at which place. Sometime he was even directed not to observe fasts! His some of the fasts were observed with intake of only water, while sometime with water on alternate days and yet another time with only a cup of milk or coconut water. The duration of the fasts were also uncertain as he would wait for the achievement of Divine Mother's grace or a solution to his spiritual dilemmas. Some of the fasts lasted for nine days, some other lasted for thirty days and once it even continued for one hundred days!

Yogeshwarji continuously received inner guidance on his spiritual journey. His faith remained nonchalant even during the trying times. The time, date and place for the complete grace of the Mother given during his experiences repeatedly came out false but he never lost patience. He had unshakable faith in the Mother's supreme powers. He first came to the Himalayas in 1941 and thereafter strived for the grace of the God for almost two decades which in itself was not a mean achievement.

How long could the omniscient, omnipotent and all-pervaded Mother hide from such resolved, undeterred and zealous soul? How long can the Mother, an ocean of love bear the stream of tears flowing from her child? How long can the temple doors of the almighty remain close for the earnest seeker?  The golden dawn of his spiritual life was about to occur.

From Shri Yogeshwarji's autobiography

"We have to understand that we do not get experience according to our wishes. Sometimes we got an experience that we have not imagined. The divine power works in his own way. Our duty is to accept its wishes and live accordingly."

-------

"Does sadhana remain incomplete after the realization of God? Is there anything left after God's realization? I would say YES. To have the realization of the divine is one thing and to assume self-divinity is altogether different thing. On the basis of my personal experiences, I have classified the darshans of God in five different stages.

In the first type, a sadhaka have the darshan - only darshan and nothing else. In the second type, sadhaka does not only have darshan but the privilege of conversation too, but again not according to his or her wishes. In the third stage, a sadhaka can have the conversation according to his or her own wishes. In the fourth stage, a sadhaka have the privilege of touch and sensation of the divine. Finally in the fifth type, a sadhaka can have darshan as well as the privilege of direct communion with the divine according to his or her wishes.

Hardly any sadhaka maintains awareness for passing through all the stages. Many of the sadhaka are satisfied with the first kind of darshan. They believe that they have become a siddha. Very rare sadhakas passes through all the stages. So a sadhaka may have the darshan of God but only he or she can say which state of darshan he or she has."
