Shri Yogeshwarji

(15 August 1921 - 18 March 1984)

Shri Yogeshwarji

The golden dawn

1960 proved a landmark year in Yogeshwarji's spiritual life. His years of penance bear fruit. His long and arduous wait for the complete grace of the Divine Mother was fulfilled. He was graced with an incredible divine state resulting in direct and incessant communion with the supreme power. He was also blessed with unimaginable supernatural powers. Another remarkable incident soon followed.

Yogeshwarji's two books, 'Anant Soor' and ' Saral Gita' were ready for publication. He could not decide on what name to use so he sought shelter unto the Divine Mother. On one auspicious day, the divine Mother adorn him with the name of 'YOGESHWAR'. Thereafter he became renowned as Mahatma Shri Yogeshwarji. In 1960, a grand celebration marked the publication of his first book. Ravishankar Mehta, then the editor of Janmabhoomi was the chief guest of the function. Thereafter, the literary world was continuously blessed by his creations in Gujarati, Hindi and English.

Theosophical society, Mussoorrie arranged Yogeshwarji's first spiritual discourse on Yoga and thereafter, the trend of spiritual discourses continued. During 1963, in recognition of Yogeshwarji's exemplary service to the masses, Gandhi Nivas Society, Mussoorrie unanimously passed a resolution and offered him a permanent residence in their premises. 1966 onwards, Yogeshwarji used to stay there for 5 months every year and deliver his discourses. He used all the funds received during his lectures for the welfare of poor students in different schools to help them with their fees and other needs. Today Saraswati Shishu Vidyamandir, Mussoorrie stay tall singing the glory of this humanitarian soul.

From Shri Yogeshwarji's autobiography

“I used to enjoy the omnipotent and omniscient power of the Supreme in my meditative state.  Now, I also started to realize the same in my wakeful state. Earlier I had to meditate or pray for the darshan or association of Mother, but now it become natural. That realization of the Mother Goddess continued thereafter without an interruption of a moment; even while walking, talking or performing any kind of activity. Direct conversation with the supreme consciousness become possible. The state of imperceptibility become natural. The difference of meditation, wakeful state and samadhi disappeared. The veils of past and present disappeared.

I could contact any soul in the entire universe without a delay of a moment merely by a thought. It was now possible to have conversation with such souls. When I found difficulties in understanding the profound mysteries of the scriptures, they were unfolded before me with the grace of those great composer of yesteryears.

-------

I felt as if my penance and years of agony has succeeded. My  goal of sadhana was fulfilled to my satisfaction. I experienced the gratification of having a human body. I know that it is very hard to fully comprehend my state for the ordinary persons or even spiritual seekers, but it remains a reality. I was blessed with a complete and incessant association and communion with the supreme power of the universe."
