On the 18th March 1984, the
auspicious day of 'Dhuleti', the spiritual odyssey of this great soul came
to an end. A fragrant flower was plucked from the magnificent garden of the
Almighty. A great light of humanity deceased, a brilliant star disappeared
from the spiritual horizon.
Yogeshwarji left his physical
body while delivering a discourse on ' Srimad Bhagvat' at Laxmi Narayan
Temple, Kandivali in Mumbai. A large gathering assembled at the Laxmi
Narayan Temple listen to his last words "The soul completes its journey when
it reaches its Destination. That's the essence of Bhagvat, that's the
essence of Ramayan." He served till his last breath for the benefit of
people and gave an inspiring message of Karma yoga. A great philosopher, a
celebrated yogi, a renowned orator, a magnanimous writer, an idol of
compassion and an ardent devotee of Mother Jagdamba was no more.
Devotees were stunned, grief
stricken and overwhelmed with emotion. With a poignant heart they had to
accept this news. His mortal body was taken to Ahmedabad where last rites
were performed. A large assembly of devotees bid a tearful farewell to their
spiritual master - who guided their lives, who enlightened their lives, who
uplifted their lives.
Yogeshwarji left behind
him a spiritual legacy in the form of
Maa Sarveshwari.
W. Longfellow has truly
said:
"Lives of Great men all remind us,
We can also make our life
sublime,
And departing leave behind us,
Footprints on the sands of time." |
