YOG TIRTH at SWARGAROHAN

A living memorabilia of Shri Yogeshwarji

The second major facelift of Swargarohan occurred when Shantibhai Kaneria, a close disciple of Maa-Prabhu decided to add a gorgeous prayer and meditation hall in the complex.  The hall, which was later named as "YOG SHAIVALYAM' can easily accommodate 500+ devotees at a time. It was also equipped with kitchen facilities on one side where now-a-days food is served to visiting and residing devotees for  a nominal charge.  Adjacent photo shows Yog Shaivalyam hall on the ground floor and Yog Tirth on the second floor.

The crown jewel of the complex is 'YOG TIRTH' - a living memorabilia of Shri Yogeshwarji.  The construction of Yog Tirth began in 2000 and its decoration is still going on. Maa Sarveshwari took extreme pain to see that Yog Tirth become one stop source for all information on the life and works of Shri Yogeshwarji.  Yog Tirth is a master piece depicting the life and work of Shri Yogeshwarji. Created on an elaborate space of more than 5000 sq. feet, Yog Tirth contains articles and writings, grand sketches & life size photos portraying the illustrious life of Shri Yogeshwarji.  One can not overlook the strenuous efforts put in by Maa Sarveshwari behind the creation of this monument.

What is inside Yog Tirth? Let’s make a literary tour of this unique pilgrim center.  As you enter, immaculately carved wooden doors embrace you with their elegance and style.  As you look forward, the first sight is that of a life size swaroop of Shri Yogeshwarji in the backdrop of magnificent Himalayan Mountains. On the left is another grand cut out - the duo of Mataji Jyotirmayi and her son Shri Yogeshwarji. Next is Saroda – Shri Yogeshwarji’s birth place. There lies model of his small house with articles such as ghanti (flour mill) used by Mataji, wooden temple which houses photo of Sai Baba, tin bag used to store household articles, walking stick of Mataji etc. The section is full with various poems from ‘Tarpan’ - a book dedicated to her by Shri Yogeshwarji.

Moving forward brings shantashram – silent witness to Shri Yogeshwarji’s arduous and historic penance spanning almost two decades in the Himalayas. Adjacent to shatashram stands huge mango tree. In the kutiya you can see chattai (mat) bought for Rs. 3 in 1942 and used by him for most part of his sadhna years.

Adjacent is a model of Saraswati Shishu Mandir, Gandhi Novas Society, Mussoorrie – a place where he used to stay at least three months every year.  It also depicts Yogeshwarji’s signature in the minute’s book of the meetings as a president.  One can also see various utensils that he used to carry there.

There come the section ‘Samandar ne pele par’ depicting all foreign tours of Yogeshwarji and associated details like brochure, felicitations conferred to him.  His handbag, backpack, cooking utensils, blanket and shawls etc.

Next comes special section of  Mataji - Yogeshwarji’s mother. It contains letters written by Yogeshwarji to her mother, Mataji’s own diary, clothes, shawl, bag etc.

In the Satyapath section lays Yogeshwarji’s chair sitting on which he gave daily darshan during the Satsang sittings; Bed, chair, Clock, battery, ink pen and ink pot; Yogeshwarji’s tooth, hair & nail; Pot filled with ash (Asthi kumbh); Rosary by him for japa; Letters written to Maa Sarveshwari; Felicitations in Gujarati, Hindi, English and Sanskrit; Text of Final lecture on ‘Shrimad Bhagvat’ at Laxminarayan Temple’ Mumbai on 18th March 1984; Bed on which his mortal body was carried for final rites; All the published and unpublished books; Picture / photos of all great personalities whom Yogeshwarji met or derived inspiration from such as Swami Shivananda, Magar Swami, Maharshi Arvind (Aurobindo), Mahatma Gandhi, Raman Maharshi, Maa Anandmayi, Udiya Baba etc.; The book-releasing function of Yogeshwarji’s autobiography at Surat in 1977 and Photos of Shri Yogeshwarji at famous overseas places
