On the battlefield of Kurukshetra, Lord Krishna gave an inspiring message to Arjuna, which became known as Bhagavad Gita. The 700 verses rendered by Lord Krishna are considered as quintessence of Hinduism and reflects the wisdom of Upanishads. Bhagavad Gita is part of epic Mahabharata and is contained in Bhishma Parva, chapter 23-40.

Arjuna saw his revered teachers, beloved friends and close relatives in enemy side so he was overtaken by grief and despair. Shunning from fighting against them, he chose to lay down his arms and sought counsel from Lord Krishna. In his unique and mesmerizing style, Krishna answered Arjun's array of questions covering sin, slander and siblings to death, duty, desire, duality and divinity. Lord Krishna convinced Arjuna that death on the battlefield was that merely of physical frame and not of the inner immortal soul. The conversation between Krishna and Arjuna threw light on many important aspects of Hinduism such as life and death, karma, devotion, jnana, yoga, supreme reality and duality.

Shri Yogeshwarji had immense love for Bhagavad Gita. Right from his early days in school, Yogeshwarji began learning and understanding Bhagavad Gita. The process continued throughout his life. He often said that 'Bhagavad Gita has nurtured me and fed me like a mother and has greatly influenced my thought process. Whenever I wanted inspiration and guidance, I looked forward to Bhagavad Gita and I was never disappointed.'

Yogeshwarji imbibed Bhagavad Gita into his day to day. He wrote many books and gave innumerable discourses on various chapters of Bhagavad Gita. His contemplations were very refreshing and people considered him as an authority on Bhagavad Gita.

Beside 'Saral Gita', his rendering of Bhagavad Gita in Gujarati poems, 'Gita Darshan' is one of his most popular and best selling book. In this book, the reader will find Yogeshwarji's comments and interpretations about verses of Bhagavad Gita. Besides simple meaning, one will find an ideology and path following which one can attain God. His writings are different than other writers in that he depicted Bhagavad Gita as a mean to go closer to God. From a spiritual aspirant's point of view this book is invaluable guide in sadhana.

For sure, therefore the readers will find something appealing in this book. Those who love ‘Bhagvad Gita’ and Shri Yogeshwarji’s literature will find it interesting to go through his other books ‘Gita Nu Sangeet’, ‘Gita Tatva Vichar’ and ‘Gita Sandesh’.
